Passports & Visas

Every traveler must have a valid passport. Visa are required for a continuous stay of more than three months. If your stay is shorter than three months you only need to bring your valid passport with you. This applies to citizens of the following countries: countries of the American Continent (except Belize, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Colombia and Peru), Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

Pharmacies

Pharmacies in Switzerland have a sign saying “Apotheke” and are usually open during regular business opening times (8 am to noon, and 2 pm to 6 pm, and on Saturday to 4 pm/5 pm). Some pharmacies (often at stations and airports) have longer hours or are open on Sundays.

In the case of toothache or a dental emergency, please contact the nearest dentist. Unless you have the necessary insurance, you will usually have to bear the costs yourself. For emergencies outside of opening times, please contact an emergency service.
